Bee’s Gardens is an award-winning garden design studio based in Oxford, creating beautiful, naturalistic gardens across Oxfordshire.

Led by award-winning garden designer and horticulturalist Briony Doubleday, Bee’s Gardens combines thoughtful design with a deep understanding of plants to create gardens that feel at home in their surroundings, work beautifully throughout the seasons and support wildlife.

Whether you’re looking for a one-off garden consultation, a planting scheme to bring an established garden to life, or a complete garden redesign, every project starts with understanding you, your garden and how you want to use it.

Our approach is rooted in considered planting, sustainable design and a light touch wherever possible. We look for opportunities to make the most of existing features, improve biodiversity and create resilient gardens that grow more beautiful over time.

Based in Oxford, Bee’s Gardens works with clients across Oxfordshire, including North Oxford, Summertown, Boars Hill, Cumnor, Woodstock and surrounding villages.

We love working with clients who want to transform their outdoor spaces and value encouraging wildlife, improving soil health, creating habitats and using rich biodiverse planting schemes to attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators into their gardens.

I am a skilled listener and believe in making the garden that is right for you and the space. Each garden we create is unique. Sustainable, resilient and ecological design is at the heart of all our projects.

Whichever way you choose to work with us or the size of your outdoor space we always focus on improving soil health, making space for wildlife and encouraging biodiversity.

We provide aftercare plans and seasonal aftercare visits with follow-up summaries to assist you or your gardener in nurturing your garden as it evolves and develops.

Award Winning Design

In 2019 we worked on the UK Pavilion Beijing Expo garden in China, a project led by the Department for International Trade (DIT) in partnership with the British Embassy in Beijing. Focusing on key natural resources in the UK such as the ancient woodlands and biodiverse meadows.

In 2018 'The Penumbra' my show garden designed to support the Stroke Association was awarded RHS Gold, 'Best Back to Back Garden', 'Best Construction' and 'People's Choice' Awards at RHS Flower Show Tatton Park and was featured on the BBC RHS Tatton programme with Adam Frost. A simplified version of 'The Penumbra' also won Gold and 'Best in Show' at Blenheim Palace Flower Show see Show Gardens page for further information!
